About MCP Server

The Celayix MCP Server allows you to securely connect supported AI tools to your Celayix account and interact with your Schedule Xpress data using natural language.

MCP (Model Context Protocol) provides a standardized way for AI tools to access Celayix data. Once connected, you can ask questions about your workforce and scheduling information without needing to manually search through Schedule Xpress or export data.

For example, depending on the data and functionality available through MCP, you can use your connected AI tool to help retrieve and analyze information from Celayix.

How MCP Works

The Celayix MCP Server acts as a secure connection between Celayix and a supported AI tool.

Each administrator with MCP access can create their own MCP Token from Schedule Xpress. This token is used when configuring the connection with the AI tool and authenticates access to your Celayix account.

MCP Tokens should be treated like passwords and should not be shared with other users.

MCP Server Access Management

By default, MCP functionality is available to all admin users. Users with Full Admin access will continue to have MCP access at all times.

For users assigned to a Manager access group, MCP access can be enabled or restricted based on your organization’s needs.

To manage MCP access, go to:

Settings → Security → Manager Access → Feature Access

Select the appropriate Feature Access Group, then open the Other Modules tab.

Locate MCP Token Setup Access and click the Edit icon.

From here, select:

• Run Access – Allows users in the group to access MCP Token Setup and create MCP Tokens.
• No Access – Prevents users in the group from accessing MCP Token Setup.

Any users assigned to that Feature Access Group will follow the selected MCP access setting.

Important: Full Admin users always have access to MCP. The MCP Token Setup Access setting applies to users with Manager access.

If MCP Server is not currently enabled for your organization, please contact Celayix Support to request access.

Once MCP Server has been enabled, you can manage access for individual Manager groups using the settings above.
