Each shift is assigned a color based on the shift's state, or site or service. Shifts with similar characteristics are easily differentiated from each other visually in the Schedule module of Schedule Xpress.
Note: The words 'site' and 'service' may be labeled differently in your database.
Schedule with colors by site, as below.
Shift state colors
Every shift has a state. A shift is worked or not worked, it has overtime or not, it is Open or has an employee assigned, etc.
The most common color scheme is gray with blue text for not worked, gray with black text for worked, red with white text for scheduled with overtime, white with red text for worked with overtime, yellow for open, and green for tentative.
Shift tags allow the colors to be adjusted per shift - every shift tag has its own set of colors for each state. Shift state colors and shift tag colors are configured in eTime Xpress.
Site colors
Each site can be assigned a color. This makes it easy to visualize all the shifts for any given site. E.g., red for Safeway, green for T&T grocery, blue for the Bank of America, orange for Wells Fargo. Site colors are configured in Schedule Xpress Site management.
Note that you can easily apply the same color to more than one site using the multiple-update feature. Put checkmarks next to all the sites to be updated, then press the orange Update n sites button at the top right. This is an easy way to apply the same color to all the sites of a customer.
Service colors
Each service can be assigned a color, making it easy to visualize all that shifts that have the same service. E.g., blue for security guards, brown for K9 patrol, etc. Or blue for registered nurses, green for PCAs, pink for candy-stripers, etc. Service colors are configured in Schedule Xpress Service management.
As with site colors, you can easily apply the same color to more than one service using the multiple-update feature.
The Schedule layout
Depending on the Layout Display Options, the schedule's colors will be based on the state of the shift, or the site, or the service. You can easily switch among them while viewing a schedule.
The Schedule
Here are three examples of the same schedule, with colors displayed by site, or service, or state.

State colors
Though not shown in the examples above, the shifts will also show the symbols for acknowledgements, confirmations, self scheduling, bidding and alerts. The colors of the symbols may vary depending on the state of the shift. To configure these, go to Settings, Visual shift status.
