Time off requests blocked

A new feature has been added that allows admins to prevent employees from requesting time off on certain dates.

This can be found in Schedule Xpress, under Settings > Security > Additional Employee settings > Employee Time off settings.

Time off requests blocked in Additional employee settings

You can use this feature to add any dates you want to block your employees from being able to request time off for. If they do attempt to request time off for a blocked date, they will receive an error message in their Team Xpress app.

Choosing your dates for time off requests to be blocked

If a day in your schedule is blocked for time off requests, it will also be shown in the Schedule info widget.

The employee will receive the following error if they attempt to book time off on a blocked date.

Highlight holidays in your schedule

Highlight Holidays is a new feature that can be used to highlight statutory holidays in your schedule. This is designed to make it easier to recognize when a holiday is in effect so that the scheduler can manage their scheduling with this in mind.

Highlighted holidays shows you any holidays by highlighting them in red in your schedule

You can toggle this flag to Yes in Schedule Xpress, under Settings > Branch defaults > General > Statutory days.

You can toggle the flag to highlight holidays in red from within your General settings in Schedule Xpress

You'll notice that it is highlighted in a red color with an information icon.

The schedule info widget will tell you the statutory day, if this day is blocked for time off request, or if there's a Schedule memo that needs to be read.

Schedule info widget and Schedule memo

A schedule info widget has been added to indicate important information that the user needs to know. It contains information on whether:

  • There is a statutory holiday on this day.

  • Time off requests are blocked on this day.

  • If any schedule memos have been added for this day to remind schedulers of important information.

The Schedule memo can be used for communicating important information that you may require other users to see. For example, if there is a special event that other users need to be made aware of, you can warn them prior to making any schedule changes to ensure this information is considered.

The Schedule info widget presents as an information icon next to the date in your schedule

If there's a statutory holiday, a time off request blocked, or a schedule memo written, then the schedule info widget will display next to the date. However, if there's none of the above in place, you can hover near the date to click the + sign to add a schedule memo.

If you don't have a statutory holiday, time off request blocked or schedule memo written, you can click the + sign to add a schedule memo

Schedule memos in feature access

You can decide the level of access a user has to Schedule memos inside of their Feature access group.

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Two-factor authentication (2FA) can now be used as an identity and access management security method for your Schedule Xpress. It adds an extra layer of security by generating a code from your device to enter after your password.

You will need to contact support to ensure that your account has access to enable 2FA.

Bug fixes

You can read the notable bug fixes through September 2024 below:

  • When opening the employee advanced filter, only the Open (employee) is shown until opened a second time or clear all filters is pressed. This bug has now been corrected, meaning ALL employees will be shown the first time you open this filter.
