Need a quick way to connect with your team? The Chat feature in Schedule Xpress lets you send real-time messages without leaving the platform.

It’s designed for shift updates, quick questions, or staying in sync throughout the day.


Accessing the Chat Feature

You can access the Chat feature by navigating to the top-right corner of Schedule Xpress, where it appears as a chat bubble icon.

Note: The Chat feature will only be visible if it has been enabled for your account. If you'd like to enable Chat, please contact our support team.


Creating a Chat in Schedule Xpress

To start a chat, click the plus (+) icon and select the employee you want to communicate with.

You can choose to chat with either an employee or a manager by toggling between the two options.

To start a chat, click on the name of the employee or manager, then tap Done in the top right corner.

You can type your message in the chat box and send it by pressing the upward-facing arrow.

When a chat message is delivered, it will show one check mark.

Creating Group Chats in Schedule Xpress

You can create group chats to enable seamless communication within specific teams or groups. This feature allows employees to coordinate more effectively by keeping all conversations related to schedules, tasks, and updates in one centralized place.

Group chats help reduce the need for external messaging tools, minimize miscommunication, and ensure that everyone stays aligned on goals and timelines.


Pop-up Notifications for Chat in Team Xpress

Employees will receive pop-up notifications from the chat feature directly on their lock screens, ensuring they never miss an important message.

Please Note: To take advantage of this new feature, their Team Xpress app must be updated to the latest version.

Chat Permissions for Employees

Admins can now decide if employees can initiate chats with managers and/or other employees via employee access group settings in Schedule Xpress.

Even if initiation is disabled, employees can still read and reply to chats started by managers, provided they have chat access.
