The check in/out process, geofencing, breaks and safety checks in your Team Xpress app

Team Xpress is designed to give employees easy access to check in and out of their shifts. Employee will use the sliders located under each shift in their app to record their checks.

Finding Schedule in Team Xpress app

Upon logging in to your Team Xpress app, you'll be able to access your Schedule and see any shifts for the current week.

Any shifts for the current day will be highlighted orange on the date.

Shifts in Schedule

Once inside of the Schedule section, you'll see any shifts that you're scheduled for. You can see the basic shift detail of each shift, but can see the full detail by clicking on each individual shift. This is also where you'll slide to check in and out.

Slide to Check in

Once you've entered the shift, you'll be able to check in if you're within your check in parameters.

Note: Check in parameters are set by your supervisor/scheduler. If you don't know how long before a shift that your check in slider will appear, please contact them to find out. For example, many companies will allow the check in slider to appear 30 minutes before the shift begins.

Geofence at site

When you Slide to Check in, you may have a geofence at your site location. This means that you will need to be inside of the geofence radius to check in.

You can click Map to view your position and the geofence radius. The location placemark will show as grey.

If you're within the geofence radius, your placemark will show in green.

If you're not within your geofence radius, your placemark will show in red.

Refresh your location

If you're currently looking at your Map view to locate yourself within the geofence radius, then you can press Refresh your location to show your current location at that exact moment.

Location accuracy insufficient

If you're location accuracy is insufficient, then you'll have two options based on the way your account has been setup by your supervisor:

  • You'll not be able to check in

  • You'll be able to check in by accepting a statement that your supervisor has given you permission to do so

Let's look at how the two options will display.

Cannot check in because the device is not within the geofence:

If you aren't receiving your GPS location on the Map, you may need to check your Location Services.

Enabling Location Services on mobile phone

Your phone's Location Services must be enabled for GPS location to be tracked. If you do not know how to enable this, then you must consult with your phone service provider, phone manufacturer or ask a member of your team to help.

Successful Check in!

A successful Check in will look like below.

You'll then be left with any other checks you need to complete whilst on shift, such as breaks or safety checks.

Slide to Start Break, Slide to End Break and Slide to do Safety check will appear if you're permitted to record these inside of shift in Team Xpress

If you're permitted to record your break, then you'll see an option for Slide to Start Break. Once you slide to start, you'll need to Slide to End Break when you're finished. This is to ensure that your break is recorded.

The below shows a successful Slide to Start Break.

Note: If your site is geofenced, you'll need to ensure that you're still within the geofence radius when sliding to start your break.

Ensure that you Slide to End Break so that your break is recorded.

Note: If your site is geofenced, you'll need to ensure that you're still within the geofence radius when sliding to end break.

Slide to do Safety check

Safety checks are put in place to ensure that you're telling your supervisor that you're safe at site, and in some cases, that you are still where you should be.

If you're required to perform Safety checks, then you'll have intervals in place that require to Slide to do Safety check. For example, if your Safety check intervals are 1 hour, then you'll need to Slide to do Safety check every hour.

Note: If your site is geofenced, you'll need to ensure that you're still within the geofence radius when sliding to do a Safety check.

Slide to Check out

Once you've completed all your checks, you'll be able to Slide to Check out of your shift. Please ensure that you're within the geofence radius at site before attempting a check out.

Note: Check out parameters are set by your supervisor/scheduler. If you don't know how long before or after a shift ends that your check out slider will appear, please contact them to find out. For example, many companies will allow the check out slider to appear 30 minutes before and after a shift ends.
