In order for the scheduler or the system to send you emails or text messages, you must allow them to do so by giving them permission within your Team Xpress app.

The scheduler may send you messages for any number of reasons. For example, information about your shifts, information about open shifts, general notifications.

Also, the system may send messages automatically for various reasons. For example, to notify you about changes to your shifts, to remind you to acknowledge or confirm your shifts, to let you know that your time off request was accepted or denied, among others.

In an effort to prevent spam by email and text, you must give explicit permission to be sent email and text messages. You may have given consent when you initially set up your Team Xpress account. If not, you can easily configure it in Team Xpress.

Methods of Sending/Receiving Messages

Messages can be sent to you in any of three ways:

  1. In-app, which is always visible. Messages will be indicated via the bell icon in Team Xpress. Also, depending on whether you are on Android or iOS, you may receive push notifications as the messages come in. Consent is not required for in-app, these messages are always visible in the app.

  2. Email, which the scheduler may or may not choose to use. You must grant consent in order to receive messages by email. By default consent is Off, meaning that if the scheduler sends messages by email then you will not receive them. Note that even when you grant consent, of course you will receive email only if the scheduler chooses to send by email.

  3. SMS / text, which the scheduler may or may not choose to use. You must grant consent in order to receive text messages. By default consent is Off, meaning that if the scheduler sends messages by text then you will not receive them. Note that even when you grant consent, of course you will receive text messages only if the scheduler chooses to send by SMS.

Giving Consent to Receive Email and/or Text Messages

  1. Log in to your Team Xpress.

  2. Go to the My Account area.

  3. Go to Preferences, then Notifications.

  4. Set the checkmarks as needed, and then press Save.

Remember that even if you do not agree to receive emails and text messages, you will still always be able to see the messages in Team Xpress.
